The gospel is the center of the Christian faith, but do we see how it moves in our lives as believers even past when we are first saved? Our Senior Pastor Candidate preaches from 1 Corinthians 15 to remind us of the importance of the gospel, and what it means for not just the unbeliever, but the believer.

"If we say we love God but hate our enemies, and we rejoice when they fall, where's the fruit of love? If we say that we have all the knowledge and discernment, but we cannot speak and reflect the heart of God to each other in conflict and differences, where is the fruit?"

Our series in the book of Philippians continues this week with Pastor David talking about why love is the most important thing, especially when it comes to using our knowledge and discernment.

"Joy isn't happiness. Happiness is based on what is happening. It's based on circumstances. The thing is, happiness is not a bad thing. It's not like happiness is somehow the sinful version of joy. But joy is what we find in the middle of all circumstances."

Pastor David Baxley starts out our new series called "JoyFull" taking us through the book of Philippians this summer.

5-17-20 Through The Valley – Psalm 23 – David Baxley
"Even as he (King David) was going through the dark valley, he could say with confidence that it wasn't by accident because the shepherd had led him there. He doesn't have to carry on his own shoulders how he got there, or what he needs to do to fix the situation, or what he needs to do to correct it and change it. He doesn't have to try to take control of it. He knows the shepherd led him there, and the shepherd will lead him out."

Pastor David begins our mini-series in the Psalms by starting us arguably the most well-known psalm: Psalm 23.

"God has absolute authority and dominion over it all, and he's reminding us of that truth right now to come back to that. God's got this! If you want to trust in God's promises, you need to look no further than to realize that as the creator God, he has absolute authority."

Pastor David Baxley wraps up our series going through 1 Peter by taking us through some of what God promises, and why we need to trust those promises and the one who makes them. Join us next week as we start our new mini-series called "Through The Valley" that takes us through some of the Psalms.

"When we begin to suffer, our minds become the battleground for discouragement and lies. That's when the enemy wants to come in: when we are discouraged, when we might be weak, or when we might be going through something, even if it's something where God is working and doing something in our lives, which he promises he is, the enemy still sees our vulnerability, and he comes in."

Pastor David Baxley takes us deeper into chapter 5 of 1 Peter; this week going into what it means to be sober-minded and alert to our enemy.

"What would your marriage look like; what would your relationship with your siblings look like; what your relationship with co-workers look like; if just one person, if just you ordered your ladder this way? If just you thought of your wife as more important than you; Or if just one sibling thought 'I'm just here to serve my family'; Or just one co-worker decided 'Hey, everyone around me is more important than me'? What would that do to a marriage, what would that do to a relationship, what would that do to a family?"

Parker Rabe makes up his sermon we missed from a snow day on February 9th by taking us through 1 Peter 1:22-2:3, and the many powerful things we can find in that section of God's Word.
