Sunday Recap – Update on the Senior Pastor Search Progress
Hello Bethany Family,
We wanted to take an opportunity to update you on our search for the open Senior Pastor position. Since we last updated you in October the Senior Pastor Search Team has continued to accept and screen applications. The search team continues to meet weekly to discuss and review applications, talk through the next steps with any open applications and most importantly pray over this process as we continue to seek the Holy Spirit’s leading for our church!
Since October the team has received and reviewed an additional 34 applications, bringing the total number of applications submitted since the search was launched in September to 63. A number of these men have met the desired qualifications and the team has conducted a number of follow up calls and formal interviews as they continue to seek God’s will through this process. In addition to reviewing the applications that have been submitted the team has been actively looking for possible applicants and stayed in contact with the Forest Lakes District and National EFCA offices in an effort to find potential applicants. This has been successful in generating a number of referrals and we continue to seek the advice of these offices as we patiently walk the path God has before us! The team is currently in discussion with a couple applicants and remain excited about the direction and progress of the Search.
The Overseer Board is excited and encouraged by the process, the steady stream of qualified applications and the interest we have had! We rest firmly in the timing and leading of the Holy Spirit, faithfully trusting that when we are ready, the man will be here! Most importantly we are excited about the work the Holy Spirit is doing at Bethany right now! We continue to see God’s provision in and through our church family, and in leading and equipping us to live out the mission of Bethany Church!
We are blessed to have an amazing pastoral and support staff that humbly and faithfully serve our body. We rejoice in the continual work for the Kingdom being done here at Bethany! We encourage you to join us in continual prayer for our church, our search process and the next senior pastor of Bethany as we continue to faithfully walk the path God has laid before us! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak with any member of the Overseer Board.
Sincerely,
The Bethany Overseer Board
